A new Chick-fil-A restaurant is slated to open for business Thursday in Memphis.
The new Chick-fil-A is located at 4649 Summer Ave., near the intersection of Summer Avenue and Stratford Road. It will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
This location is locally owned and operated by Memphis resident Matthew Pruitt. He left his engineering career to become a Chick-fil-A team member in 2014 and became the operator of Chick-fil-A in Millington in 2017. Pruitt has now been selected to open this new Chick-fil-A in the community where his family resides.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to provide a positive working environment and an excellent dining experience for our neighbors,” Pruitt said.
“When I began my journey as a team member, I was able to experience firsthand the positive impact our restaurant can provide daily. I look forward to making a positive impact and partner with local organizations, schools and nonprofits to give back to our community, starting right here in Memphis.”
In place of the traditional Chick-fil-A First 100 Grand Opening celebration, the new Chick-fil-A will surprise 100 local heroes making an impact in Memphis with free Chick-fil-A for a year. Additionally, in honor of the new restaurant’s opening, Chick-fil-A will donate $25,000 to Feeding America. The funds will be distributed to partners within the greater Memphis area to aid in the fight against hunger.
The restaurant will employ approximately 150 full- and part-time team members.
