The Best Day Spas in Dallas

Dallas has no shortage of spas. A handful are situated inside swanky hotels, complete with infinity pools and state-of-the-art saunas. You’ll also find med spas, where guests can indulge in custom facials, injectables, and cutting-edge skincare treatments all at once. There are even mega spas, complete with waterparks and food courts.

But our focus is on Dallas’ true day spas, retreats where you can spend an afternoon in a fluffy robe, cucumber water in hand. Some of them offer waxing, mani/pedis, and salon services, but their menus tend to focus on facials and massages, with a few signature services sprinkled in. And, of course, each is well-equipped with amenities like luxury showers and relaxation rooms that will tempt you to stay for hours.

We’ve narrowed down the list to help you discover the standout spas among the myriad options in North Texas. (For today’s purposes, we’re sticking with standalone spas–nothing at The Joule or The Adolphus this time.) Here are our go-to sanctuaries when we’re craving a few hours of relaxation.

Halcyon Days Salon & Spa is one of Dallas’ best-kept secrets. This subterranean establishment is located under Neiman Marcus’ bustling cosmetics department. To enter, just look for the gilded spiral staircase near the elevators. You’ll step inside a soothing oasis with curved walls and a gleaming gold and white palette.

At Halcyon, guests can book makeup, waxing, or facial appointments, each corresponding to one of the beauty counters upstairs. We’ve tried and loved the Cle de Peau’s Synactif Facial (which is complimentary with a purchase of two items from the luxury brand), which featured three types of facial massages. No matter what treatment you choose, it’s cosigned by Neiman Marcus, so you’re in good hands.

After decades of building a loyal customer base and opening outposts across the state, Hiatus is practically a Texas spa institution. The spa’s flagship location in Inwood Village recently received a makeover and now sports a trendy white-and-wood aesthetic, and several new locations have popped up around Dallas in the past year. Regardless of which location you choose, the spa services are consistently solid (as is Hiatus’ signature green tea).

For top-tier relaxation, schedule a Monthly Retreat, a curated and ever-changing combination of services like hot stone massages, body scrubs, and scalp treatments. Want to commit to a self-care routine? Join the H-Circle members club, which starts at $69 and includes one treatment a month, like a tailor-made facial, a mani-pedi, acupuncture, or a body wrap.

Milk + Honey Spa

This Austin-based spa opened at the Shops at Clearfork in Fort Worth a few years ago, and its pampering-as-therapy motto and clean-lined aesthetic made it an immediate hit. Milk + Honey prides itself on being “hyperclean,” from all-natural skin and body products to non-toxic nail polishes. The spa also offers salon treatments, including hair and eyelash extensions.

Milk + Honey’s retail section is top-notch and warrants a visit of its own. It’s stocked with Kevin Murphy haircare, OSEA skincare, and its aforementioned eponymous brand. We’re partial to the Milk + Honey body polish and milk bath.

L.A.-based spa The NOW made its North Texas debut in 2021 with locations in North Dallas and on Lower Greenville. This massage-centric oasis has an airy interior filled with natural materials like rattan, crystals, and raw wood. In place of private rooms, The NOW separates spagoers with thick canvas drapes. You’ll also note a soundtrack of ocean sounds and an omnipresent jasmine coconut scent. As a result, The NOW feels like a chic wellness retreat you’d find on the coasts of California.

The NOW’s menu includes a signature Swedish-inspired massage designed to release stress and anxiety, a Healer massage intended to balance the body’s energy, and a Stretch massage that promotes muscle recovery and lymphatic stimulation. You can also book services like herbal heat therapy, stimulating scalp treatments, and calming eye masks.

The NOW offers a membership package to encourage customers to prioritize regular self-care. In addition to monthly massages, members enjoy discounts on in-store purchases like dry brushes, Gua Sha tools, and hemp lotions.

Riviera Spa has been a Knox/Henderson fixture for nearly a decade. Upon entering the spa, which is tucked behind the bustling shops and restaurants of Travis Walk, you’ll be greeted with a mimosa and robe before being ushered to your dimly lit treatment room. Riviera Spa’s extensive menu includes HydraFacials, chemical peels, deep tissue massages, waxing, infrared sauna technology, and float therapy. Each month, a new limited-edition treatment is introduced, like coffee body scrubs and almond microdermabrasion facials.

This spa’s front-of-house retail section carries respected skincare brands like Eminence Organics and Circadia Skin, plus Well CBD massage products and Craft + Foster candles.

NorthPark’s other wellness destination is Spa Nordstrom, a tucked-away treasure inside the lively department store. Head to the second floor to find an extensive menu of services like oxygen facials, body wraps, and lash tinting.

Spa Nordstrom’s specialty is airbrush tanning. This treatment uses a formula by cult-favorite brand St. Tropez to create a bronze (not orange) glow that fades nicely during its weeklong lifespan. To make your tan last even longer, book a body exfoliation first.

Yes, Equinox is a gym (or, rather, a ‘fitness club’), but its spa is still top-notch. After all, everything is luxurious at Equinox, from the Kiehl’s products in the showers to the chilled eucalyptus towels in the cardio area. The spa has several treatments developed with athletes in mind, like massages and body wraps designed for muscle recovery and flexibility. Their facial menu is equally impressive: microdermabrasion, HydraFacials, and even a treatment that uses 18k gold.

Not an Equinox member? No problem. Visitors who book a 50-minute long treatment are invited to stay and use the fitness facilities for the day.

The Woodhouse Day Spa first opened in Victoria, the small town in South Texas. In the 20 years since, Woodhouse has expanded to over 70 locations, including Plano, Fort Worth, Highland Village, and Dallas. Naturally, each spa is filled with warm wood tones; the serene interiors are also brimming with greenery like fiddle leaf figs and framed moss.

Choose from skincare (facials and microdermabrasion), massage therapy (four-handed massages? yes, please), and full-body treatments. We’re partial to the invigorating Rainfall Refresher as an add-on–enjoy an extra-warm Vichy shower followed by a 15-second burst of chilled water.

Vivian's Spa

Vivian’s, situated at the corner of Ross and Greenville, may be one of the smaller spas on this list, but it also boasts an extensive treatment menu and a chic, cozy interior. The pedicure chairs and cabinets were custom-built in a wood shop in Ennis, and white quartz accents and velvet furniture contribute to the spa’s sophisticated and welcoming aesthetic.

Stop in for a mani/pedi, a custom facial, and an array of massages, but don’t forget to peruse the specials and add-ons, which include indulgent treatments like a shea butter foot cocoon or an agave nectar scalp massage. Vivian’s is also known for its seasonal offerings; in the summer, expect to see a menu of total-body treatments like shea butter scrubs and purifying treatments designed to promote soft, clear skin on your back, legs, and arms.
